Latham House Medical Practice launches online consultation tool.

During the Coronavirus pandemic GP Practices are being urged to continue to support the prevention of widespread transmission of Covid-19 in the UK. In line with social distancing rules Latham House Medical Practice has implemented significant changes to their operations to support distance care as much as possible, limiting face to face consultation or patients needing to attend the Practice in person.

As a next step, Latham House Medical Practice will launch a new digital service from the NHS on 23rd April 2020, called Engage Consult.  Engage Consult allows patients and carers to connect with their GP practice and access services online from a PC, tablet or smartphone.

Kate Hunter, Executive Manager commented “Although there has been some challenges to changing our operations we are really pleased with how our patients have responded to the new ways of working and their support of our staff has been overwhelming.  Through Engage Consult patients will be able to request appointments, ask questions about their medication, access links to trusted self-help advice and also have an online consultation all at a time when it suits them via this new digital service. We believe Engage Consult will now enhance the care we can give our community, offering an online service to support our patients in their own homes whilst still working safely”.

Instead of using the phone to call us, you can get advice from a clinician, send a message about an admin issue or access links to trusted self-help advice when it suits you via this new digital service.

Who is it suitable for?

Engage Consult is suitable for all of our registered patients.

How does it work?

Patients and carers can access the Engage Consult application directly from the practice website to:

  • book an appointment
  • order a repeat prescription
  • get self-care information
  • have an online consultation that involves answering simple questions about symptoms. A report is then sent to the GP, who can follow up with the best course of action – for example, seeing the patient, phoning with advice or giving a prescription

How do I access it?

  • From 23rd April 2020, you will be able to access this service from a button on our website home page.
  • You will need an email address to sign up
  • You will need to follow the ‘Sign Up’ Instructions to register and be able to access the full service.

Instructions are available on our website at https://www.lhmp.co.uk/engage-consult/ or simply follow the sign up instructions via the app.

Instead of using the phone to call us, you can get advice from a clinician, send a message about an admin issue or access links to trusted self-help advice when it suits you via this new digital service.
